5-Day Marangu Route ("Coca-Cola Route")

$1,400 / person

Description

The Marangu Route, often called the "Coca-Cola Route," is the most popular and accessible path up Mount Kilimanjaro. It's the only route with comfortable sleeping huts instead of tents, making it ideal for climbers seeking a more supported experience. This 5-day itinerary ascends through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and snow-capped summit zones to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Note: The compressed 5-day version offers less acclimatization time than the recommended 6-day option, leading to a lower summit success rate (~50-60%) due to altitude challenges. Perfect for fit adventurers on a tighter schedule.

The huts made it comfortable, and the scenery changed dramatically each day—rainforest to snow! Summit night was brutal with altitude sickness, but reaching Uhuru at sunrise was life-changing. Guides were fantastic. Wish I'd had one more day for acclimatization, but still summited!

Epic adventure! The 5-day push was intense, especially the final ascent, but the crew support and hut stays made it manageable. Stunning views above the clouds and pure joy at the top. Highly recommend if you're fit—pure elation and a huge personal achievement.
