Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Pick up from Dar es Salaam hotel or airport after breakfast. Drive ~4-5 hours to Mikumi National Park. Full day game drives on the Mkata Floodplain — large elephant herds, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and rich birdlife. Picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and overnight at a comfortable lodge or tented camp in/near Mikumi.

Day 2: Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains – Return to Dar es Salaam

Morning game drive in Mikumi for additional wildlife sightings, then short transfer (~2-3 hours) to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Guided forest hike to Sanje Waterfalls — encounter endemic red colobus monkeys, rare birds, butterflies, and lush tropical rainforest. Picnic lunch. Afternoon return to Dar es Salaam (~6-7 hours total drive) with hotel or airport drop-off. End of a wonderful 2-day Southern Circuit Safari!

Loved the contrast in just 2 days — savanna wildlife then rainforest monkeys and waterfalls. Quiet parks, excellent value. Highly recommend for short time!
